About Tore Cheung

Tore Cheung Siu Ho, born in Hong Kong in 1984. Graduated from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University majoring in visual communication, he is currently based in Beijing, working as a fabric print and fashion designer.

Apart from his versatile nature, he focuses on art, creating acrylic-based paintings which heavily referencing to found images from his collection.Treating the process of creating as treasure hunt, he looks for things that he could borrow and steal. He is particularly interested in seeing how unique delights from different objects are brought together, how beauty and humor emerge accidentally to question the constructed.

Tore believes that by abandoning one's craftsmanship from time to time, one could work more towards the emotional response. The finished pieces are often reflections of his subconscious, other than conscious constructions.
