About Amimi Cheng

Hong Kong based illustrator, Amimi (Ah-Mimi), has showcased her works in various exhibitions and events in Hong Kong, US, Canada, China, and Taiwan. Her work has appears in a selection of publications such as Applied Arts Magazine, APPortfolio and Masterpiece of Illustration Taiwan. She believes that illustration is more than just drawings, but a form of communication that transcends language. Through her works, she hopes to convey her artistic passion to help inspire and to form a connection between herself and her audience.

Many of her works are inspired by personal experiences. "Living in a multi-cultured city like Hong Kong is truly a wonderful experience. The constant interactions and behaviors between different people has always captivated and drove me to be observant to my surrounding, which in time has inspired me on many of my work."

Cheng's whimsical take on some of the social behaviours of the people in Hong Kong can easily be related to audiences from different culture and social background, which forges a connection and a sense of familiarity to her audience.
