About Joanne Wong
Joanne Wong was born in Hertfordshire UK and moved to Hong Kong in 2010 where her ancestral roots lie. Joanne received a M.A. in Illustration from University of Arts London at Camberwell College in 2006. She often uses mixed media on paper and oil paints on canvas. Currently she is working on a storybook project and also works as a freelance Art teacher. Joanne has exhibited in shows in London, Beijing and Hong Kong.
Joanne Wong is a visual storyteller, she tells stories through the characters in her artworks. Animals and children inspire her in her creations; a ‘return to innocence’ is what she wants to achieve in her art.
Artist statement
I tell stories through my art in blend of surreal childhood memories and imagination. Where the animals are personified and the land is a place of mystery.’
