About Chan Oscar Yik Long
Born in 1988, Oscar Chan Yik Long graduated from the Academy of Visual Arts, Hong Kong Baptist University in 2011. He has participated in a number of exhibitions including we all sleep alone (Platform China, 2013), A Journal of the Plague Year (Para Site Art Space, 2013), Re Un Defined (Galerie Ora Ora, 2013), New Trend 2011 (Artist Commune, Cattle Depot Artists Village, 2011), and his first solo exhibition No/Thing (Artist Commune, 2011).
Artist’s Statement
His creative approach explores personal experiences whilst embracing different media and their properties including installation, ceramics, and illustration. His works are site-specific, enabling viewers to contextualise personal experiences into a wider context of collective relationship. Based on these very real personal experiences, he explores how individuals associate themselves with others.
