About Hector Chan
Chan Wai Kit, Hector was born in 1991 in Hong Kong. Chan graduated from Hong Kong Baptist University-Academy of Visual Arts in 2015 after studying in Fine Art Academy of Bologna in Italy in 2014 in exchange program.
As a painter, Chan roams between the Process of painting, Identity of objects and Rhythm of composition.
Chan’s painting focuses on finding aesthete from surrounding environment and culture, to refine them as visual elements to explore the possibility and process of painting practice.
As a painter, I roam between the Process of painting, Identity of objects and Rhythm of composition.
In the series of Flowery of Fist with Fancy Footwork, I take Kung-fu and its cultural products (such as films and comics) as catalyst to explore the rhythm and form of painting.
In the series of A-Z Illusion, I try to find and explore the identity of object and human’s awareness to objects.
